Whine in 3rd

Have recently purchased a Breva 750 and although I did note some noise on the test ride I actually thought it was screen vibrating. Turns out its not the screen and only happens in third gear and only then within a specific rev range of around 3500-4500 I now believe it to be the gearbox. Has anyone else come across this sort of noise and if so has it caused any major problems?

Mine whines in 1st if I change down too quick? and it's doesnt like going into first when you are taking off you have to slip the clutch.
